Wikileaks; Amazon; RAGE

In case you haven't heard, there's a whole bunch of controversy going on right now about Wikileaks.org and all of the stuff they've been making public.  A few days ago Amazon.com cut off wikileaks from being hosted on their servers.

Now look at what you can purchase off amazon!

The rise of the white man

DISCLAIMER: I AM MAKING ABSOLUTELY NO SUGGESTION THAT ONE SKIN COLOR IS BETTER THEN ANY OTHER. I AM ONLY STATING A THEORY OF MINE.

Okay, so unless you've been living under a rock your whole life then you might have noticed that throughout much of history, and still today, the caucasian male has had much of the power and money in the world.  I've often wondered how this came to happen, and I've come up with a theory that might explain this.

There are some theories that state that mankind started in Africa.  Many small tribes and communities existed there.  Now if this is true then we can assume that the people who lived then were probably dark skinned, as that would be better for living in a primitive way in Africa.  Now my theory is that at some point there were white (or at least significantly paler skinned individuals) born.  The people wouldn't have known that the reason they were pale skinned was due to genetics, so they probably thought these babies were some sort of higher being, because they had light fair skin.  Over time the pale people accepted this as truth, that they were either akin to gods, or they were gifts from the gods, so they gradually took it upon themselves to act more like how the dark-skinned people thought of them.

That is what has lead to the history that we can now read about in books.  More than likely the reason the pale-skinned babies were born was because the people living in africa eventually started venturing to other parts of the world, meaning that the enviroment wouldn't have demaned such dark skin tones.

Just something I thought about the other day.  Tell me what you think, and please don't hold back.

It's been quiet.

It sure has, and I'm sorry.  Sometimes life just gets in the way of things.  But I'm trying to turn things around and start anew with blogging.  I've been trying to refresh my batteries - although that's been proving somewhat difficult - and I hope that I can eventually get back on some sort of pattern of normalcy.

Some interesting tidbits:

Women are starting to buy more expensive and powerful cars, and what is the result?  They're starting to get more tickets.  If you were ever in a psychology or sociology class and the teacher told you that men drive more recklessly, well guess what baby...The times, they are a changin!  Now you can go rub it in their noses.  In fact a study done by Quality Planning found that the seven out of the top ten cars cars to get ticketed, including the top two, the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class and the Toyota Camry Solara, are driven predominantly by women.  So there you have it, women are just as reckless at driving as men.

If you would like to see the full results, then you can find them right here

In other news; Amtrak will soon be allowing passengers to carry guns with them aboard some trains.  Do you have any idea what this means?!?!?!?!?  It means I can finally have the western train shootout I've been wanting to have for so long!  But now I can do it in the style and luxury that is AMTRAK.

About my last post....

When I wrote my last post, I was very angry, and was filled with emotions - mainly rage - but now I've calmed down.  I intend to plan to continue blogging, and I hope all of my wonderful followers will continue to read, comment and enjoy what I have to say.

I unfortunately have nothing to post regarding my computer professor Mrs. Yu, so there won't be any 'Yu fucked up' post this week, but when I was at the gym yesterday, I noticed this...

Seeing that made me wonder if I could work out with no pants on.  It also made me wonder if there was a similar sign in the womens locker room?

A Sad Day

I received an email today from Google saying that my AdSense account had been suspended.

'After reviewing our records, we've determined that your AdSense account
poses a risk of generating invalid activity. Because we have a
responsibility to protect our AdWords advertisers from inflated costs due
to invalid activity, we've found it necessary to disable your AdSense
account. Your outstanding balance and Google's share of the revenue will
both be fully refunded back to the affected advertisers.'

This is troubling.  I try to run an honest blog here, and believe me, I enjoy doing it.  But I had hoped to capitalize on this love, even if I only saw a small return.  Now, unless I can successfully appeal the suspension, I won't get to monetize this blog.

In the email itself it doesn't really give an explanation of what 'invalid activity' is, although it does provide a link to a FAQ page.  Unfortunately on said page, you basically learn nothing about what invalid click activity is, or why exactly your account was deemed 'a risk to our AdWords advertisers'

That's another thing, in case you didn't know, AdSense isn't about you the blogger, or the website owner, all Google cares about in the relationship is the big companies or websites that pay money to be part of it (big surprise).  Since they didn't actually explain why my account was disabled, I'm left to sit and ponder why - maybe some people read what I've written and strongly disagreed with my opinions, and knowing the terms and conditions of AdSense accounts they decide to click my ads a whole bunch of times (or it could be someone who just finds pleasure in ruining peoples AdSense accounts) or it could have been a bunch of people accidentally clicking on the ads (I know it sounds unlikely but I've accidentally clicked ads before, it happens) any possibility you come up with, the minute google scrutinizes it and determines that it could pose a risk to whoever the ads are for (I only ever remember seeing ads for groupon on my blog, that and the google local ads) they cut the chord and say "nope, sorry, no more for you EVER."  While I understand the point of view of an advertiser, I think it's ridiculous to just deal someone a blow like this, especially when you keep the exact reasoning so secret.  Imagine getting fired from your job, and when you ask why, your boss says "mmm no I can't tell you that"

I do intend to appeal the suspension, I'm debating whether I should do it now, or wait awhile, continue to blog, and maybe build up a somewhat stronger reputation.

What are your thoughts and views on this, what do you think I should do?

Jailbreaking and Innovation

Earlier today I was thinking about jailbreaking iDevices, and how the jailbreak community has accomplished some amazing things.  Think about it, they aren't like the developers and programmers at Apple or Google who get paid to sit there and do their thing.  Most of them are doing this for fun, or very little money.  Yet, even facing those things, they've done some truly astounding things.  And I don't necessarily mean just the hacks and modifications that they've produced, but also the fact that the iPhone and it's operating system wouldn't be where it's at today in terms of features if it weren't for those courageous jailbreakers, who've said 'f**k you Apple, I don't like this.'

Some of the first and major examples would be Installer and Cydia. If it werent' for their creation and popularity then the much touted App Store probably wouldn't exist, or at least it wouldn't be the same.

This got me thinking, In the whole iPhone and jailbreak escapade, it's the people who rebeled, the people who stepped on Apples toe's, it's those people who have driven the innovation we see in todays current releases.  The same people who are still driving innovation today, and surely will continue to do the same in the future.

This got me thinking again, and I asked myself "has it always been like this?"

And from what I remember about history, yes, for the most part, the people who break the rules and rebel are the ones who lead innovation.

So in your everyday life, every once in a while, think about breaking a rule or two.  You never know what may happen if you do.

Batman sequal news!!!

'There...
That one right there...
yes the third one...
No...
No it won't have the Riddler in it...
and it's also going to be called The Dark Knight Rises...
I know, I know...
I was drunk with some friends one night and we agreed that I'd call it the first name that we could come up with!!!!1

Anyways! The ever impenetrable fortress of information that is Chris Nolan stated in an interview with the LA Times that the Riddler was not going to be the villain in the upcoming third installment of this batman franchise, and he also revealed that the title would be 'The Dark Knight Rises'

please, do comment and share with me your opinions on these latest announcements.

Man tattoos his own eyeballs.

This guy is crazy, he estimates that about 98% of his body is tattoed, so he decided to go one step further, and tattoo his eyeballs!

Think about it! he actually stuck a needle in his eyballs and injected ink, and he did it to himself.

Anyways you can see him and his Tattoed eyeballs <- right there.

Ohio; No more snow days!

So, there's some rural (or at least that's what people are calling it on other websites) city in Ohio that is planning on doing away with snow days!!!  Instead the students will have to get on their computers, go online and continue learning from there.  Firstly, I'm not in grade school anymore, but I hate the sound of that.  Snow days were those magical days that came along every so often, when we could wake up, say 'screw you school!' and then go do something fun with our friends (unless your parents were strict and made you stay home).  Secondly most of the other articles I've seen on this subject express some concern about whether all of the students have access to computers and the internet at their homes.  My major question is "Who cares if they don't have it right now, most people do, what about on the snow days, when theres been a snow storm, and theres possibly people without electricity, or internet services, what are they gonna do?"  I mean come on it is Ohio!  They do get their fair share of snow.

Also saw something about some new reports saying that over the past decade there have been over 1200 new plant and animal species discovered in the amazon...but...who really cares about that.  No snow days in Ohio is much more important.

You've gotta watch out for those Cyberterroists

I was in my computer class yesterday.  The teacher was doing a Powerpoint about the ehtical issues of computer use - YAWN - when she got to this slide me and a buddy noticed she had made an error.  for some reason we couldn't stop laughing, then everyone was looking at us.  For some reason no one else noticed it!

Apple to buy Sony?!?

MSN Link

In the linked article above the author talks about how Apple might buy Sony.  He shows what both companies have in common.  Apparently Jobs has stated that with Apples current wealth their looking "to make a strategic acquisition or two."  Other possible purchases could be Disney, and Adobe.  I see the later as the most likely to happen as it would be the cheapest, also it would allow apple to possibly put an end to Adobe Premiere Pro, a big competitor to Apple Final Cut Pro, both video editing softwares that hold big stakes in the market (although i hope they don't buy Adobe for fear that they might push for software to be more mac oriented instead of cross-platform(but maybe that's just me being a worrywart))

Whatever Apple decides to do, it is certain to have big reprecutions (good or bad) on the purchased business, and on Apple themselves as there would be new sources of profit for them, but alas they probably still won't lower the prices of the computers by any significant amount....oh well.

Paranormal Activity 2 - It's a sequal that's a prequal!

While I generally don't like spoilers, I will say that PA 2 is both a prequal (which is the main chunk of the movie) and a sequal.  I for one very much enjoyed this second installment in the Paranormal Activity franchise. They stayed true to the original, while still branching out and trying different things. A major difference is that in this number 2 there are multiple different cameras throughout the house, plus a handheld, giving you the ability to see different rooms in the house, while also eliminating a good deal of shaky cam, if you don't particularily like that shooting style then you'll find PA 2 much more palatable then the first.

I say you should see this movie especially if you saw the first, because as I said before, this movie provides both backstory, and a continuation to the original.

Logitech Darkfield

Alright I've been excited for about week now, since a friend showed me a new line of mouses from Logitech.  The new line of mouses is called Darkfield, they use Logitech's new Darkfield Laser Tracking technology, which boasts the ability to be able to accurately track across glass and carpeting.  This is very exciting, as it will finally allow me to buy a glass desk and not have to worry about having a mousepad.  The specific mouse pictured above is the Performance Mouse MX, this is the one I'm looking at getting.  It's $99.99, that may seem a little pricey, but I've been a long time logitech user, and love their mouses (absolutely love my MX518).  There are some more affordable options, so if your interested definitely check out the link below.

I hope you enjoy whatever I post about.
