The rise of the white man

DISCLAIMER: I AM MAKING ABSOLUTELY NO SUGGESTION THAT ONE SKIN COLOR IS BETTER THEN ANY OTHER. I AM ONLY STATING A THEORY OF MINE.

Okay, so unless you've been living under a rock your whole life then you might have noticed that throughout much of history, and still today, the caucasian male has had much of the power and money in the world.  I've often wondered how this came to happen, and I've come up with a theory that might explain this.

There are some theories that state that mankind started in Africa.  Many small tribes and communities existed there.  Now if this is true then we can assume that the people who lived then were probably dark skinned, as that would be better for living in a primitive way in Africa.  Now my theory is that at some point there were white (or at least significantly paler skinned individuals) born.  The people wouldn't have known that the reason they were pale skinned was due to genetics, so they probably thought these babies were some sort of higher being, because they had light fair skin.  Over time the pale people accepted this as truth, that they were either akin to gods, or they were gifts from the gods, so they gradually took it upon themselves to act more like how the dark-skinned people thought of them.

That is what has lead to the history that we can now read about in books.  More than likely the reason the pale-skinned babies were born was because the people living in africa eventually started venturing to other parts of the world, meaning that the enviroment wouldn't have demaned such dark skin tones.

Just something I thought about the other day.  Tell me what you think, and please don't hold back.

  1. well that can't be right because you don't see people looking towards redheads as higher beings and they're different...

If i was black and had a white kid back then I would think that the kid was born sick, (or I gave birth to a ghost) so I would try to help him/her until I realised that there is no way of the child returning to the black/brown colour, in which case the child would become an outcast because difference is a sign of weakness in a tribe, if one person doesn't think the same way/co-operate with the head of the tribe, then the outcomes will not go as planned, plus the white skin would be a blatantly obvious sign that he or she won't camouflage into the terrain if needs be...

  2. I can see your point. Although, in that case, wouldn't it have been likely for the tribe to kill or sacrifice the white baby, if they thought it would be a problem or a bad thing?

I guess we can't really assume how people actually thought or the way they would've realistically reacted way back then, but I do like that you have a different view on the subject.
